The Legend of The Nags Head

It’s hard to believe that in the peaceful tranquillity of The Bull Hotel and the surrounding area of Bucks, stands just 15 miles away the most important prime music venue in Buckinghamshire.
The Nags Head is situated in High Wycombe on the London Road, just along the A40. The pubs heritage is legendary and since the late sixties has seen performances from John Lee Hooker, Howlin Wolf, The Who, The Sex Pistols, U2 and many more.

This small music venue has seen many years of uncertainty and although still a pub, for years the upstairs music venue was closed due to complaints from local residents. It is in this upstairs room, where all of the legends that played, signed a wall which is now part of the back stage area following the property’s extensive face lift.

But now, this venue steeped in rock and blues history is back! Since the refurbishment the venue has started to regain its reputation as a venue for local talent and original music.

So if it’s the music of tomorrow that you want, or to be surrounded by memories of rock and blues legends, then take the short trip down the A40, situated right outside the hotel, and you will not be disappointed.
