Trooping the Colour takes place on Saturday 16 June, an army event to celebrate The Queen's official birthday, this year The Coldstream Guards will troop the Colour. On Sunday 17 June there will be a tri-service National Commemorative Event to mark the 25th anniversary of the liberation of the Falkland Islands.
Both events involve a parade on Horse Guards which are ticket only affairs. However following the parades the squads march along The Mall to Buckingham Palace. The Falkland Islands event will also involve a flypast over Buckingham Palace. The march along The Mall is your best opportunity to see the military bands and squads. On Saturday they will march to Horse Guards Parade between 10am and 11am and back down The Mall between 12pm and 12.30pm and on Sunday catch them after 3.30pm. It's probably a good idea to get there a little early to secure a good spot!
