Bonfire Night

Well it’s that time of year again – a time when we celebrate “Guy Fawkes,” who with a small number of men decided to blow up the houses of parliament, in a plot to kill the King and maybe even the Prince of Wales. They were to use 36 barrels of gunpowder, which was stored in the cellar just under the House of Lords. Unfortunately, Guy Fawkes was caught with the gun powder, in the early hours of the November 5th and was tortured and executed. And this is what we celebrate every year.
So if you are joining us at The Bull Hotel this weekend, there is plenty going on in the area. Chalfont St Giles is hosting its annual Bonfire event on Saturday, 8th November, at Stone Meadow. The gates will open at 6pm and the Bonfire is due to commence at 6.30pm, with Fireworks starting at 7pm. It will be great fun for the whole family. After the Bonfire, why not come and enjoy cup of hot chocolate at The Bull Hotel, in the comfort of the warm and cosy Lounge Bar.
