Go Ape! at Wendover Woods

Would you like to try something you’ve never done before…A big adventure and fun… Go Ape! at Wendover Woods.

Set high up on the crest of the Chiltern Hills; enjoy the spectacular views and wild landscape across Aylesbury Vale from high up in the trees. Jon & Amy run a great café in the woods; pop in and indulge in one of their homemade cakes.

Wendover Woods sits up on the Northern edge of the Chiltern escarpment and offers idyllic views not only from the forest floor but even better while enjoying your ‘treetime’ 35ft in the forest canopy.

The woods is also very well located as it is close to many large towns and cities including Aylesbury, Oxford, High Wycombe, Hemel Hempstead, Luton and not forgetting it is only a short drive from the Bull Hotel in Gerrads Cross.

The course itself offers a couple of long zip slides as well as a great Tarzan Swing to get that adrenaline pumping. The Forest Drive, the driveway into and out of the park also offers some fantastic views to give a great first and lasting impression. There are 3 dedicated trails to explore the 325 hectares of mixed coniferous and broadleaved woodland on foot.

1) The 3 mile/ 4.5km Firecrest trail, leading you through the many habitats within Wendover Woods including that of the very rare bird, the Firecrest.

2) The Forest Fitness trail, a testing trail around the banks of the Iron Age Boddington Hill Fort.

3) The All Ability Hilltop Trail, 1km long suitable for all.

There is also a permanent orienteering course through the woods, maps may be purchased from the forest office and tourist information centre in Wendover.

The Cafe in the Woods has been said to be the best Go Ape! has to offer at the 16 sites across the UK for a relaxing refreshment after the Go Ape! experience.
